Commanders sign QB Jayden Daniels, No. 2 overall pick, to rookie contract


Daniels, 23, spent his first three collegiate seasons with Arizona State and two more with LSU. During his final season with the Tigers, Daniels threw for 3,812 passing yards for 40 touchdowns and four interceptions, including chipping in 1,134 rushing yards with 10 rush TDs. He capped of his college career with 12,749 passing yards, 3,307 rushing yards, throwing 89 TDs and 20 interceptions in 55 games played.

As Daniels heads into training camp locked in with his rookie contract, he will get a chance to strengthen his case for the starting job in Washington later this summer.
